Nise-Haruna is the first and main mascot of a freeware desktop mascot program referred to as Nise-Haruna (Fake Haruna) or a more modern catchall, Ukagaka. Ukagaka was originally referred to as Nise-Haruna as a whole as she was the only included character. Nini-tan has also has siblings, Mikage Sakura, Nekoko and Shouta and a companion named Unyuu. Some fans consider Kuro Haruna her older sister as well. Ukagaka is a Japanese free shareware interactive desktop mascot program popular in the early 2000s. In 2001 it became possible for users to create their own their own ghost aside from Nini-tan, and it is one of the first existing desktop mascot applications. This program and character are free offshoots of the Personaware software and it's main character Haruna, with the difference being it is shareware instead of under a third party licensing. It has been known by a variety of different names, ‘Ukagaka’ is the third time it was re-titled and MATERIA was released. There are a few different programs that open ghosts using MATERIA such as SSP and Crow.
